Dan represents businesses facing complex employment law issues. Dan regularly performs internal investigations and directs executives and managers on best practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws governing the workplace. He also provides labor and employment advice in M&A due diligence matters and is trusted as strategic employment counsel for business planning initiatives. As part of his litigation practice, Dan represents employers in state and federal courts in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation lawsuits, whistleblower claims, and wage and hour collective actions. He has extensive class action experience and also routinely appears before administrative agencies in employment-related matters.

Artificial intelligence is creeping into many facets of human life. The human resources department is no exception.  Numerous AI tools are marketed to human resource professionals with the promise of a more diverse and productive workforce.  AI can be beneficial, but undisciplined implementation can lead to discriminatory outcomes.  Participants will learn how to:

• Understand the scope of available artificial intelligence tools in the workplace;
• Recognize that the use of an artificial intelligence tool can have unintended discriminatory consequences;
• Prevent discriminatory outcomes when utilizing artificial intelligence for human resource functions.
